Officers

Kathi Gundlach – President

Kathi has been active in the League since her retirement from the School District of Palm Beach County in 2017. She worked in various capacities in the school district, including as teacher and as school psychologist. Her last three years were as President of the Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association. Kathi was also a member of the National Education Association Board of Directors and the Florida Education Association Board of Directors. Kathi graduated from the University of Florida where she received her BAE. At Florida Atlantic University she was awarded an Ed.D.

Kathi became involved with the Education Committee, becoming Chair of the Committee and establishing September as Public Education Month. She worked as Co-chair with Christene Campbell-Gabor when the Education and Civics committees were combined. Voter Services and the Speakers Bureau are other committees she has worked with during her time in the League. Kathi believes all the League Teams are equally important. Her focus as president has been to make sure the League is financially sound, continues to highlight public education, institutes the Nancy Cohen Leadership Program, and works with others to make a successful annual fundraising program.

Cathy Einhorn – 2nd Vice President

Cathy has been volunteering for many years. As a former resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Cathy started out with committee chairmanships at the schools her children attended as well as holding several major positions in local government, and local non profit organizations. Cathy was responsible for starting and running the Kids Community Closet project which provides clothes and shoes in schools for students that cannot afford to buy them.

She is the current president of the Learning Disabilities Association of Florida, a position Cathy held in both Missouri and Texas. The organization helps advocate for and guide parents that have questions about their child’s special education needs.

In 2023, as the Vice President and prior Communications Chair of the League, Cathy chaired the first Fundraising Luncheon since the pandemic, bringing in $49,000 in profit. Cathy was a member of the committee that put together the inaugural Nancy Cohen League Leadership Program, came up with the slogan “I Stand With The League”, as well as developing an on line merchandise store. Cathy also brought forward the idea of the Lifetime Leadership Award for the League.

Melissa Gannon - Treasurer

Melissa has been a League member since 2022.

Melissa Gannon, CDFA®, CFP® has worked in the field of Finance for more than 30 years. She joined Castle Wealth Management, West Palm Beach, in 2016 and is currently the Manager Financial Planning and a Partner in the firm. For more than 21 years Melissa was the Vice President of Weiss Ratings, where she led the firm’s quantitative financial analyses of the nation’s insurance companies, banks, and credit unions as well as the risk-adjusted performance of stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs. She opened an independent fee-only financial planning firm in 2015 before ultimately joining Castle Wealth Management.

Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Dayton in 1988 and a Master in Business Administration (concentration in Finance) from Florida Atlantic University in 1998. She earned her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation in 2016 and Certified Financial Plannertm designation in 2019.

Jill Abbey, Director

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Jill has lived in Florida since 2012. She earned her B.A. in Human Development and her M.B.A. in Marketing, Organizational Management, and Leadership. Jill works as the contract administrator for a luxury design and development firm in West Palm Beach and is also a Board Member of the Women’s Chamber of PBC. Jill sings and plays bass in her local cover band, My Generation, which includes her father as a member.

Jill’s great-great-grandmother was a member of the original League of Women Voters in the early 1900s that helped ratify women’s right to vote. Jill and her husband live in Jupiter, Florida, where they enjoy kayaking, travel, wine tastings, and spending time with their two rescue dogs.

Cassondra A. Corbin-Thaddies, Director

Dr. Cassondra A. Corbin-Thaddies is an innovative instructional designer and educational technology advocate, dedicated to empowering educators and leaders. She champion's mindset shifts and racial equity, creating transformative learning experiences globally.

With 20+ years in education, Cassondra's expertise includes learning technology, executive coaching, and training. She has positively impacted over 2500 teachers and 500 schools worldwide.

A collaborator with Stanford University's Graduate School of Education, she contributes to professional development and the EdTech Genome Project. Cassondra, who holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology, is the founder of Connect to Greatness, Inc., and the Vice President of Coaching and Professional Services at Learning Innovation Catalyst (LINC).

Sara Haas, Director

Sara is an advocate for new Americans and women. Her undergraduate degree is in Political Science (focus on the Islamic world), and her graduate degree is in Political Science (focus on democratization).

Sara’s nonprofit career began at GCBHS, as a refugee and asylee employment specialist. She also taught job readiness, citizenship, and vocational ESOL classes.

After moving to Florida in 2019, Sara sharpened her skills in development, communications, marketing, and volunteer management as the Volunteer Services and Outreach Coordinator at Catholic Charities of Palm Beach. Today, she works for Church World Service as Senior Manager for National Community Engagement, creating welcoming communities across the US for refugees and immigrants.

Sara is active in the League’s Young Leaguers Team and New Leaders Council Palm Beach. In her free time, she enjoys the beach, traveling, and being home with her two rescue dogs.

Marge Holtz, Director

Marge is a retired federal employee with more than 30 years of service, and was the senior civilian public affairs officer in the Department of the Navy for more than 17 years. She went on to work as a consultant in the maritime industry and to teach communications in the undergraduate and graduate schools at American University and the graduate school at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C.

Marge was raised in Ohio before marrying a U.S. Navy officer and moving to wherever ordered for 20-plus years. She lived and worked in the Washington, D.C., area for 35 years before decamping for Key West in 2015. There she joined the Lower Keys League of Women Voters and served as president from 2019 until resigning to move to the Florida mainland in 2022. Marge joined the Palm Beach County League 2023.

Donna Minard, Director

Donna has been a League member since 2023 and will be serving on the Development Committee.

Donna graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a BA in French. After teaching high school French for 10 years, she moved into development and special events at Drexel University in Philadelphia. For the next 35 years she continued her career in those fields working for various nonprofits. She moved to Jupiter in 2001, serving as director of Development for The American Red Cross and The Benjamin School.

Donna retired in 2018 and now works part time as a docent for the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach.

Kate Renchin, Director

Kate traces a lifelong interest in civil and voting rights, justice, and the legal system back to high school days writing for the school newspaper, heading the Women’s Judicial Board at the University of Wisconsin, and teaching literacy and volunteering at a women’s shelter.

These days she pursues her work as Co-Chair of the Palm Beach County Voting Rights Coalition and the Palm Beach County Election Protection program, while serving on the board of the League of Women Voters, NAACP West Palm Beach, and the Steering Committee of Coming to the Table South Florida. She is also a past board member of ACLU Florida and Palm Beach County.

Jennifer Ulrich, Director

Jennifer joined the League when she moved to Jupiter Florida in 2021. A Florida native, Jennifer has lived throughout the state, including Orlando where she graduated from UCF with an Industrial Engineering degree. She currently works in Change Management implementing new technology and processes, focused on user adoption.

Through the League, she wants to promote voting rights and voter participation. She is an alumna of the New Leaders Council. In her free time, she loves going to the beach and enjoys a good story.

Linda Kramer, Administrative Assistant

Linda Kramer provides support to the Board, the Leadership Team, Team Chairs, and Members.

Before working for the League, Linda co-directed DePorres Place Adult Literacy Center, leading a team ranging from 50-90 volunteer tutors who provided reading and English language services to 200-400 adult students annually. Linda also directed development for the center, raising funds through special events and foundation grants.

A native of New Jersey, Linda worked for Verizon Communications for 35 years, where she was a union officer representing 3500 members. While in that role, Linda spearheaded dispute resolution and collective bargaining for multiple contracts.

Dawn Weir, Finance Assistant

Dorneth “Dawn” Weir and her family relocated to Wellington from North Brunswick, New Jersey in 2008. She joined the League in April 2017 and has served in various roles, including Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, League Accountant, and, most recently as Club Express Administrator.

With a B.A. in Accounting, her work experience has involved positions in banking and finance, including Investment Accountant, Auditor, Underwriter, and as Vice President and Relationship Manager at PNC Bank.

When her child was school age, she proudly joined the Florida PTA and served as PTA Treasurer throughout his period in elementary and middle school. Dawn enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending equestrian events, watching sports, reading a good book, and dining at the fabulous restaurants in Palm Beach.
